Lido Isle Seawall & King Tide Protection

Lido Isle bayfront homes have private seawalls and docks. A King Tide with a southerly swell can push water over the wall into patios and garages.

Harbor & Seawall Protection

What King Tides are

King Tides are the highest predicted tides of the year. They happen when the moon and sun line up and the moon is closest to Earth. In Orange County they mostly hit between November and February, usually in the morning.

Why seawalls get topped

A King Tide alone can bring the harbor to within inches of the top of many seawalls. Add a storm surge, onshore wind or boat wakes, and water can spill over the wall into patios, yards and ground-floor rooms.

Back-of-property sandbag lines

We lay a continuous line of sandbags along the top of your seawall or across the back of your lot, at the number of rows high you choose, to hold back water that comes over the wall.

Three seawall situations we handle

Open wall top

Clear concrete or capstone. Bags sit directly on the wall top or right behind it.

Planters in front

Raised planters along the wall. Bags go in front of the planters, on the house side.

Bushes on top

Hedges or shrubs along the wall. Bags go on the house side of the landscaping.

Planter notice: When planters or bushes run along your seawall, we place the sandbags in front of them, on the house side. If the tide comes over the wall, those plants may be exposed to saltwater.

Lido Isle King Tide FAQ

When are King Tides in Lido Isle?

King Tides in Lido Isle mostly arrive between November and February. Our live Newport Beach tide forecast shows the next predicted King Tide dates and times so you can book protection before they hit.

Can you protect a seawall in Lido Isle?

Yes. We place a continuous sandbag line along the top of the seawall or across the back of the property, at the number of rows high you choose. Every seawall job is confirmed with a site assessment.

What happens to planters or bushes on my seawall?

When planters or bushes run along your seawall, we place the sandbags in front of them, on the house side. If the tide comes over the wall, those plants may be exposed to saltwater.

Do sandbags guarantee water stays out?

No. Sandbags reduce the risk of water getting in but are not watertight. You sign a short flood-protection release before we deploy.
